Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your address, so the request reaches a contractor that serves it
- New project or repair, and roughly how big the area is
- Patio, walkway, driveway, fire pit area, wall or steps
- Whether the yard slopes or has heaved or sunken spots
- A photo or two of the area, if you have them
Planning to dig? South Dakota law requires notifying South Dakota 811 at least two working days before any excavation starts. The service is free, and your contractor normally places the request for the job.
